Galanin, The Chemical Behind Obesity
Sarah Leibowitz of Rockfell University revealed that our brain releases a chemical known as galanin. This chemical stimulates the intake of fatty foods. In a vicious circle, this subsequently increases the production of more galanin. Leibowitz noted that the level of galanin is very high among those nearing puberty. Females, in particular, have an extra capacity for producing the chemical. This, according to Leibowitz, could explain with the boys. If we don't want to become overwieght, Leibowitz stressed that the key is to exercise and eat a balanced diet.
